Growth is taken out with a small incision made from the end region of the breast.

Male Breasts Types Of Tissue

Male breasts consist of two types of tissue. One of these, fatty tissue forms, makes up almost the entire breast in men. There is also a tissue that we call the gland tissue, ie the mammary gland tissue. This tissue is rare in men. In women, especially in the young maiden breast tissue is almost made up all of the breast. This tissue grows and develops with pregnancy, with hormonal effects. However, since these features are not present in men, gland tissue is very rare in normal conditions.

Before Gynecomastia Surgery

Preoperative physical examination is essential. The physician and the patient come together to decide what method is suitable for the patient and the patient’s expectations. Stop smoking and alcohol at least 3 weeks in order to improve the quality of the recovery period and not experience bleeding problems.

They should report the drugs they use and should stop using if they are inappropriate. Complete laboratory tests.

Pre-operative photography is important for comparing postoperative status. Patients with hypersensitivity to anesthetic agents should always report to their physician.

If the cause of gynecomastia is overweight, there is an increase in fat tissue. This increased fat tissue is surgically removed or the liposuction method is taken out of the fats. If a skin excess occurs in the area during the procedure, it is removed with a certain amount of fat in the skin.

After Gynecomastia Surgery

After the gynecomastia operation, the breast completely descends. There is no need for re-shrinking surgery for breasts that are growing for many reasons. However, if one of the causes of gynecomastia is exposed to rapid weight gain, breast growth may occur again.

A corset is used for about 1 month in order to prevent the accumulation of blood and other fluids and to allow the skin to stick to the tissue more quickly as the tissue will be removed from this area.

If surgery is performed under general anesthesia, there is 1-day hospital stay. Patients undergoing local anesthesia may be discharged on the same day. Post-operative pain can be easily relieved with pain relief drugs by your doctor.

As a man, is there a breast surgery that I can have to make my breasts look more muscular? If so, which one would you recommend?

Aesthetic operations do not strengthen or build muscles. However, for some reason in some men, excessive fat in the chest area does not get burned with exercise and a muscular appearance does not occur. With gynecomastia surgery, excessive fat tissue in the breasts are removed, so a more muscular appearance may occur.

What is called GYNECOMASTIA?

Despite common thought, the concept of aesthetics carries a great deal of both men and women. Especially, recently, men become much more interested in cosmetic, plastic and reconstructive surgery.

An anesthetic body for both men and women is considered a proportional body, including the size of the chest, waist and hip.The proportion and size of the body depend on age, genetic features, specific periods of time, weight in both men and women.

Regarding a proportional body type for men, one of the biggest problems is an enlargement of the breasts as known in medical terms GYNECOMASTIA.

Why does GYNECOMASTIA happen?

There are mammary glands in both men and women body however men breasts are normally small and undeveloped. During the period of puberty, breast growth starts in boys, just like girls, and this is normal.

However, this growth may be more than expected in some boys. This is the most common cause of gynecomastia.

The second most common cause is the increase in adipose tissue in the breast area due to weight gain. Weight gain makes the breasts look larger.

The third most common cause is drugs usage. Drugs for hormone therapy or unconsciously used for bodybuilding may cause breast enlargement.

Furthermore, some medications, excess weight and alcohol consumption may cause gynecomastia.

How is GYNECOMASTIA treated?

There are different techniques to treat gynecomastia depending on the reason.

If the person needs gynecomastia surgery, due to mammary gland enlargement during puberty, growth tissue is removed from the breasts by a small incision made on the areola of the breasts.

If the person needs gynecomastia surgery, due to weight gain, it means there is excess fat on the breasts. The treatment technique is either the excess fat is removed by incision or by liposuction method without any incision.

If the person needs gynecomastia surgery because he has both excess breast tissue and excess fat tissue, both a surgical incision and liposuction method should be used in order to treat.

However, by the recent development of technology and by new devices, gynecomastia surgeries can be performed only by the liposuction method without any incision. For the best treatment and recovery process, the patient should consult his surgeon.

How much is GYNECOMASTIA surgery?

There are some conditions that detect the price such as the size of the breasts, the technique that is performed or anesthesia type that will be applied.

For exact answers, it is most important to consult a surgeon who has experience in the field.

How many days should the patient stay at the hospital?

The patient who underwent GYNECOMASTIA surgery under general anesthesia should stay one night at the hospital. General anesthesia and staying one night at the hospital is considered well for the patients’ comfort.

What should the patient do after the surgery?

After the surgery, the patient should drink a lot of water and stay active to get rid of the edema easily. The patient should wear a garment that will support his body. The garment is important during the recovery process, since there is a gap under the skin, where there was breast tissue or excess fat tissue before, the gap will adjust to the new situation of the body.

The garment should be used for at least 3 weeks. The patient should avoid heavy lifting and heavy sports during the recovery process for 3 weeks.

Is it possible for foreign patients to have GYNECOMASTIA surgery during COVID?

Foreign patients are accepted and performed surgery easily under some precautions.

What are the precautions against COVID-19?

Since COVID-19 is a part of our lives, we take serious precautions for both our patients and our medical workers. We supply the PCR test for our patients before the surgery. If the test result is NEGATIVE, the surgery can be performed.

All the medical workers including the surgeon, the nurses, the staff are sterilized and wear masks all through the process. Some measures such as washing hands, disinfect the surfaces, keep distance, use face masks are repeated regularly. Also, for the patients who stays at the hotel, the hotel rooms are sterilized before their arrival.

Our VIP shuttle is suitable for keeping a distance with the driver who also wears face masks during your safe transfers.

Gynecomastia often affects the psychology of the person negatively. Psychological problems such as lack of self-confidence, introversion, disconnection from social life, and feeling incomplete can be observed in men with larger than normal breasts.
